Start with the cooling load, not a single setpoint
PUE captures the energy used beyond the IT load. In many data centers, cooling makes up a significant share of that non-IT energy, so precision air conditioning is often the most practical place to start.
The answer is not a one-time setpoint change. IT demand, weather, airflow, and equipment behavior all change. Cooling capacity has to follow those conditions while remaining inside the site's operating and SLA requirements.
Why manual tuning is hard to sustain
